“One Beat, One World: Connecting Through the Drum”
The Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra’s drum series harnesses the power of drumming to unite, inspire, and promote well-being locally and beyond. Support also extends to the Olympic swimmers' charity Mind the Waves, focusing on mental wellness among youth and fostering positive energy in society.
REACT: Tackling waste and shaping a sustainable future
This sustainability-themed programme encourages better recycling habits to reduce waste. Supported by The Green Earth, it engages the community through events, initiatives, and activities designed to inspire, entertain, and promote sustainable living.
Volunteering through the CCG Hearts loyaty programme
CCG Hearts empowers members to create positive change through small yet meaningful actions. Participants complete “Quests” by volunteering in activities that support various groups, including the elderly, youth, and environmental causes. Quests range from stress-relief workshops for seniors to festive celebrations and sports programs for underprivileged children.
Engaging tenants through sustainable green tenancy
Recognising tenants as key partners in our sustainability journey, we have taken proactive steps to engage them. Since August 2023, 100% of new and renewing tenants have signed agreements with higher environmental standards, marking a major milestone in our sustainability efforts.

Promoting and preserving arts, culture, and heritage

Chinachem Group Celebrates French May
Since 2021, Chinachem Group partners with the French May Arts Festival to bring the finest French arts and culture to Hong Kong. This collaboration cultivates multi-cultural activities and gastronomy, inviting the public to celebrate together.
Ocktoberfest at Central Market
Central Market has been proudly hosting its annual Oktoberfest since 2022, celebrating inclusivity in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. As the Playground for All, it brings the community together with energy, joy, and connection. In this inclusive society, there’s always more to celebrate!
CCG Grand Award honours local talent
In partnership with the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society (HKIFFS), we present the CCG Grand Award in Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) to outstanding locally-produced film projects. This initiative supports the arts and cultural industries, enriches quality of life, nurtures local talent, and contributes positively to the Hong Kong film industry and community.

Lai Chi Wo Story Room shares Hakka stories
Chinachem Group is committed to conserving historic architecture and intangible cultural heritage while advancing urban-rural integration. Opened in 2021, the Lai Chi Wo Story Room, funded by Chinachem Group, promotes Hakka culture to younger generations.
A Date with Hing Chun Alliance Exhibition
Telling the story of the ancient rural village partnership known as Hing Chun Alliance, the exhibition welcomed over 130,000 visitors who experienced the village’s culture and daily life through its clothing, food, homes, and commutes.

Building a more liveable intergenerational community

Age-Friendly Estates Pilot Scheme
In partnership with The Hong Kong Council of Social Service, the Age-Friendly Estates Pilot Scheme was launched in 2023, introducing a series of initiatives and events to raise awareness of healthy ageing in place and promote an age-friendly neighbourhood that supports residents.
"Golden Gourmet" menus to bridge generations
In collaboration with the Golden Age Foundation, we have introduced a variety of specially curated soft meal recipes designed for seniors with swallowing challenges. Made with fresh, wholesome ingredients, these meals ensure that elderly can enjoy dishes with ease, creating a more inclusive dining experience.
My Good Part-Time Grandchildren
The Group and Caritas Community Centre in Tsuen Wan launched the “My Good Part-Time Grandchildren” (PTGC) Programme to foster intergenerational connections and enhance elderly residents’ access to community resources. Volunteers engage with the elderly through shared meals, activities, visits, and outings.
Care for the Elderly Ambassadors Programme
Since 2021, we have partnered with the Senior Citizen Home Safety Association on the Care for the Elderly Ambassador Programme, now in its second three-year cycle. This initiative fosters meaningful connections between youth and the elderly, reinforcing our commitment to a caring and inclusive community.
Anchor Children with Elders (ACE) Art
With a focus on the wellbeing of golden agers, Chinachem Group supports the ACE Art competition, organised by the Mighty Oaks Foundation. About 1,700 pieces of artwork created by young students are gifted to elderly homes and centres, spread love and joy across generations.
Senior housing investment in Hong Kong
Supported by the Urban Land Institute (ULI), we developed Hong Kong’s inaugural senior housing investment report. This report offers insights into creating a positive impact for senior citizens and their families, driving prosperity in the senior housing market, and contributing to environmental sustainability.

Empowering the next generation

Supporting students through Impact Booster
We co-organise the programme with the Social Enterprise Summit, empowering students to create innovative community solutions for Tsuen Wan. Through seed funding, we help turn their ideas into reality. Now in its third year since 2022, the programme inspires young changemakers to drive positive impact.
HKGCC Business Case Competition
In partnership with the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC), we support tertiary students and recent graduates by providing business cases to solve. This initiative encourages participants to develop creative solutions and gain valuable insights from our executives, offering them hands-on learning opportunities beyond the classroom.
Y.Elites - Home² Youth Hostel Project
Believing in the potential of youth as future leaders and change-makers, Chinachem Group, through Nina Hospitality, has launched the Home² Youth Hostel Project. In response to the Hong Kong SAR Government’s Youth Development Blueprint—Youth Hostel Programme, we have partnered with the Y.Elite Association to operate this initiative for five years. This project aims to support and enrich the lives of young residents as they embark on their journeys.

Sustaining an inclusive society

Operation Santa Claus
For the fourth consecutive year, we support Operation Santa Claus, a city-wide charity campaign organised by the South China Morning Post and Radio Television Hong Kong. Through various initiatives, we aim to spread joy and care to those in need, promoting the spirit of giving.
Urban Climb 300m+
Chinachem was the lead partner of the fundraising initiative Urban Climb 300M+, where paraplegic rock climber Lai Chi-wai take on the challenge of climbing Nina Tower, Chinachem’s landmark headquarters in Tsuen Wan and the tallest building in New Territories. This project raised more than HK$7.7 million, including our matching donation of over HK$3.8 million, to the “Get up and Walk” programme of the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology in the LKS Faculty of Medicine at The University of Hong Kong (HKUMed).
A gift of learning
The onset of Covid-19 led to the mass closure of schools in Hong Kong, immediately forcing organised learning online. However gaining access to computers and the internet, often regarded as universal, can be very challenging for underprivileged families. With the assistance of the Rotary Club of Kai Tak, the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong Single Parents Association, we donated laptops and internet connections, together with the set up of software and the offer of basic training to 53 children living in Shek Kip Mei and Sham Shui Po.
Covid busters
Providing persons with disabilities opportunities to work is a key component to these individuals long-term financial needs and mental health, and the disabled are typically at greater risk during pandemic. To assist with this, Chinachem sponsored Fu Hong Society’s social enterprise to provide free local-invented long-term disinfection coating spray services for 20 day service centres by a team comprising persons with and without disabilities. This initiative not only creates safer environment against Covid-19, but also offers the disabled job opportunities, allowing them to help themselves as well as those in need, and make it a win-win situation for society.
Supporting communities through hospitality arms
During COVID-19, some of our hotels served as Designated Hotels for quarantine stays. At Nina Hotel Island South, over 170 quarantined guests organised “The Wave,” decorating their windows with uplifting messages to express gratitude. Our colleagues responded with warm smiles and waves in return.
